- Hands
What to expect at my appointment?
When you first arrive at our office, you will have a full consultation with your injector. You and your injector will discuss your aesthetics goals and come up with a treatment plan that you are comfortable with.
Depending on the area being injected, you will likely be asked to arrive at your appointment 45-60 minutes early so a topical numbing agent can be applied to your injection area. This helps you be more comfortable during your injections.
Filler will be injected into your area of concern with a tiny needle. Amount of injections depends on the area being treated. Most patients describe the pinch of the needle and the sensation of the filler being injected.
One benefit of dermal filler is that results are instant. Longevity depends on the area injected and the metabolism of the patient and can widely vary. On average, you can expect your filler to last 8-12 months.
What do I need to do following filler injections?
Following filler injections (particularly with lip filler) you can expect swelling to the injection area. You may also notice a small amount of bruising. This can be minimized by applying ice on and off for at least an hour after your appointment. Arnica gel will be applied to lips after injection to help with swelling and bruising. You can purchase your own gel to apply at home as needed.
Avoid heavy exercise and sun exposure for 1-3 days following filler injection.
Do not touch, press or run treatment area for at least 6 hours after treatment to avoid migration of filler.
If lips were filled consider sleeping with head elevated to help minimize swelling.
Patient should report increased pain, swelling or increase in discoloration other than regular bruising by calling the office immediately (330-420-2025).
In-depth post care instructions will be given at your appointment.
