Neurotoxin (Botox, Dysport, Xeomin)
Botox, and other neurotoxins (Dysport, Xeomin) are small amounts of toxin that are injected into muscles to prevent the muscle from moving. Botox is often used to reduce the appearance of wrinkles but it can also be used to stop excessive sweating, treat muscle spasms and prevent chronic migraines.
Benefits:
Neurotoxin injection is a procedure that can be done quickly with minimal down time. Results can begin to be seen in 2-7 days with full results expected on day 14. Results typically last around 3 months, but will vary from person to person based on area injected, metabolism, amount injected, etc.
Procedure:
Injections take approximately 15 minutes per area on average. Most patients report only slight discomfort during the injections, usually described as a burning or stinging. In general, neurotoxin injection is very well tolerated. Most patients will be able to resume regular activity following injections. Patients should avoid lying flat for 4 hours following procedure. No rubbing treatment area or exercise for 24 hours. Post-treatment instructions will be reviewed in detail at your appointment.

Cost will be determined upon consultation with your provider as it can vary based on product used and amount of toxin injected. Number of units used is based on size and strength of muscle injected.
Dermal Fillers
Dermal fillers are gel-like substances injected to created a fuller or smoother appearance of the area injected. Common areas injected are lips, cheeks, chins, temples and hands.
Benefits:
A benefit of filler is results are seen immediately. Duration of results vary but last upwards of 1 year, sometimes longer.
Procedure:
Injections take approximately 30-60 minutes per area injected. Depending on injection area, a topical numbing cream will be applied prior to procedure to help minimize discomfort. Following procedure you may experience swelling, tenderness, bruising or redness. These side effects are generally mild and last 2-7 days.
